Una vita libera tra i monti
The exhibition gives value to a talented mountaineer, Carlo Virando (1884-1980), born in Viù Valley and author of many ascents, which for that period were arduous. Thanks to them, he joined the prestigious Club Alpino Accademico Italiano (CAAI). The exhibition proposes about thirty pictures taken by Virando between 1908 and 1935 during the various challenges which marked a significant milestone in mountaineering. There is also an interesting section which analyses the beginning of ski mountaineering in the Lanzo Valleys.
